Washington, DC (KELO-AM) South Dakota Senator John Thune (R) is co-sponsoring legislation to reform the Internal Revenue Service. Senator Thune says the IRS too often forgets that the 'S' stands for service.
Thune says the 'Taxpayer Bill of Rights Enhancement Act' will improve customer service at the IRS, create new taxpayer protections and improve existing protections.
Thune says no citizen should have to put up with the recent IRS abuses, including the targeting of taxpayers because of their political beliefs.
The other sponsor of the legislation is Iowa Senator chuck Grassley (R).
